Here is a piece I recently created that gives you a bit of glimpse of how i may find inspiration anywhere. Growing up the classic “Do The Right Thing” was and is one of my favorite movies ever! As a kid I had a major crush on Joie Lee! And I was obsessed with the scene with her combing the hair of Mother Sister, played by the iconic Ruby Dee. The way the scene was filmed and acted out stuck in my head forever. To me it looked a lot like she was standing on the shoulders of the past and receiving messages for the present and future…In my own little imagination.lol! Sooo, this is the movie, the thoughts and totally inspiration of this piece. Rest well Ruby Dee + Ossie Davis- Ashe
