This series is was inspired by the May 1965 cover of LIFE magazine. It featured female pro skateboarder Pat Magee. I reimagined a few other covers from her historic cover story. Prints available @ the gallery as well as online. Link in bio.
EBONY PRINCE - I wondered beyond the visuals reimagining of skateboarding and cover art. I thought about what would a kid in prime skater age be faced with during the same time as Patt Magee. But the kid is from Compton, CA and 19 years old in 1968. He also has dreams of one day becoming a professional skateboarder…as soon as he returns from Vietnam.
